Oneida Community Mansion House

We booked through Expedia after seeing reviews that looked real, but arrived to find a mansion in poor repair and not kept up. The grass was uncut, there were no signs to guide us, no parking lot, and no clear main entrance. The doors were locked, and we saw no lights or people inside. This booking seems like a scam, and I believe the reviews are fake. Do not book here.

I’m from out of state, so not getting to take the tour was a waste of my time. The place was closed for tours, and the employee inside kept repeating that they weren’t open and had posted about it on Facebook in three variations. There was no apology, and they got defensive in a way that made it sound like the customers were at fault. I can’t rate the place itself, only that rude employee, who needs some basic customer service empathy training.

I’ve never slept so well since having children. The bed felt like a huge pillow, and I keep dreaming about floating on it again. We stayed in the gorgeous king suite, which also had the best bathtub I’ve ever come across. I couldn’t be happier with the stay and absolutely recommend it.

I liked how isolated the dorm felt, and the room was great, with no TV. If spooky places away from crowds are your thing, the dorms fit the bill. Walking down that dimly lit hallway was creepy in a good way.
