The Pathmaker Hotel

We had a great room and could easily get to everything Bar Harbor has to offer. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the hotel restaurant was a treat, from the complimentary breakfast to dinner and cocktails. We had a wonderful few days here and would definitely stay again if we return to Bar Harbor.

For a one-night stay, this was really enjoyable. The room was spacious and clean, with a pretty view, and the hotel was quiet with what seemed like plenty of parking. It’s a smaller place, which I prefer to the very large chains, and it’s right off Main Street, so walking around is easy. I didn’t get to try the restaurant, but appreciated the fresh coffee set out in the morning. The few people I encountered were polite, though not especially friendly, which felt a bit off-putting in such a tourist town.

We spent a winter weekend in Bar Harbor and were glad we chose The Pathmaker. The beds were comfortable, rooms clean, staff friendly, and the food delicious. The bar drinks were tasty, and happy hour from 4-6pm made them even better. It’s easy to walk anywhere downtown from here. Can’t wait to come back!

We felt very welcome from the start. Matthew at the Front Desk made our dinner reservations when we called ahead, then checked us in when we arrived. He was warm, informative, and polite, as were the rest of the Staff. The breakfast was a sit-down meal with full Wait Staff, included in the room, and a huge value. The hotel has a cozy, beautiful feel, with a nice bar and restaurant onsite and easy access to downtown while being just outside the thickest crowds. It has an elevated boutique feel without being pretentious. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and our large king room had plenty of space for luggage and a big tub. We appreciated the bath salts and the quality soaps and shampoos in sealed bottles rather than shared dispensers on the shower wall. We can’t wait to go back!
