Astro Budget Motel

I feel secure staying here. The motel has monthly rates, and the first month requires tax; if you continue month to month after that, tax isn't charged on those rates. The Manager is kind, helpful, and understanding about fixed incomes. If you need to wait for your pay check, He will give you time.

The AC worked pretty well, and nobody broke in, but I still wouldn't pay to stay here again. The room was cheap, though disgusting. There was hair on the floor and in the bed, and the towels had brown spots that looked like... yeah. I felt cleaner before I walked in, and I didn't want to shower after spending the evening there. There were only two little slivers of soap and no shampoo. The bed was so uncomfortable that I woke up several times with back pain, and in the morning I felt like I'd been hit by a train. I should've spent the extra $15 and stayed somewhere else.

We were there for only five minutes before getting back on the road, even though there weren't any other rooms available in Barstow that night. The owner was pleasant, but the place seemed to have very little maintenance. He had opened the room to let the smoke air out. Then we saw what looked like a drug deal in front of our room. When we told him, he said that couldn't happen on his property, and then refused our refund. Don't do it.

Roaches were everywhere at night, even on the roof, and one dropped right onto my plate of food. They get into anything you put down. Little pests were lingering inside the microwave and the cable box, so don't use the microwave. This place is disgusting and way too expensive for a roach motel. The woman at the front desk was very rude. The infestation is bad enough that code enforcement should shut them down.
