I wouldn't recommend the Budget Inn in Barstow after this stay. The person at the counter was already rude and confrontational before I even got inside. The area also made me uneasy, with people lingering around the property at all hours and staring at guests. I worried about my car because I'd heard about break-ins nearby. I was charged extra at check-in even though I'd prepaid online and had entered the right number of guests when booking. Staff said there was an undeclared extra person, and there wasn't a clear way to check or dispute the charge. The advertised free breakfast came with a rule against taking food back to the room, which wasn't disclosed when I booked. The outdoor walkways were slippery too, a safety concern especially at night or when wet. It also wasn't cheap once they added the extra charge.

The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable king bed and nice bedding. It had a microwave and mini fridge, and the price was good. Service was excellent, the best around here, and there are restaurants close by.

A good value for a quick stay. The basics were all there, everything worked, and the place was clean. Service was friendly, and there's even a small pool.

The room was really clean, and the front desk was so friendly. They gave my friend and me suggestions for places to go and which roads to take. Later that night, we asked about doing laundry and they unlocked the laundry room and left it open for us. They even had detergent and dryer sheets ready, which was very kind.

Right off Highway 15, with lots of places to eat nearby. The beds were comfortable, and for what we paid, the towels were fine even though they could've been softer. Breakfast is free, but we chose to find something to eat after checking out.
