Motel 66

The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with a kitchen, full-size refrigerator, and microwave. You can hear the trains, but they didn’t bother us or wake us. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the place seemed safe enough that I’d bring my family and kids. For what we paid, I haven’t found a better deal. I’ll stay here again.

The owners were really helpful, and I loved staying here. It’s clean and modern, with Route 66 decorations. Great place.

No smoking rooms at all, which is my one complaint. Otherwise, I’d recommend it if you’re staying at a motel on the Main Street. Rooms are a decent size, there’s a parking space for each guest, and the later checkout is handy. They also have a few larger rooms for families. It’s right by the freeway, so getting on the road is easy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Cars and trains make it a little noisy, though I imagine that’s true of the other places there too. The green lights give it a fun Vegas feel, whether you’re winning or losing. Rooms are usually around 45-55 bucks, which seems like a good deal. I may have made it harder to find a room at that price by saying so.

The bathroom light switch was part of an outlet, which felt like a serious safety issue. The room was also very dated: the blinds were broken, the closet rod was missing, and both supports for it were broken. The shower walls had what looked like limescale or soap scum. My boyfriend felt something poking out of the mattress, and it turned out to be a small torch of some kind. We were the only guests there. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
