Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis-Wolfchase Galleria

I slept so well I didn’t want to leave, and the shower was just right for unwinding after work. I wasn’t around much beyond sleeping, but everyone who helped me was kind and professional. I checked in through the app and was offered snacks and drinks when I arrived. Breakfast was tasty and filling, too. I was really comfortable here, and I’ll stay again if work brings me back.

After being shifted through three rooms, I finally found one that was barely okay for a night, but even that room wasn’t clean enough. One had hair on the bathroom ceiling, and the microwave and fridge were dirty. The hotel needs serious remodeling, and housekeeping clearly isn’t keeping up. The place was filthy and badly managed. Staff came across as unfriendly and uninterested. I even had to call out “excuse me” because the front desk worker was behind a wall on their phone. The manager never answered my calls or called me back. I sent corporate photos and videos of my complaints and never got a response either. Save your time and money, this place isn’t worth the hassle.

We had a suite with two thermostats, and the parking spot right by the front door was handy for Diamond level guests. The room was clean, the shower had strong pressure, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. Someone greeted us as soon as we came in.

The price was fair, the place looked very clean, and the front desk staff were pleasant, though one person wasn’t dressed professionally. Still, the beds were hard and the coffee was weak, which isn’t what I remember from Hampton. The first room had an overpowering citrus disinfectant smell. We switched floors, but the next room smelled just as strong. I’ve never changed rooms over a scent before, but this was almost too much. We were exhausted from the drive and stayed anyway. One elevator and the third-floor hallway smelled like marijuana.
