The location is quiet, the parking is easy to access, and my room was comfortable with the amenities I needed. I liked the decent-sized Dove body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the bathroom, plus the coffee and tea pods. The rainforest cafe coffee was a favorite, and breakfast was mostly pretty good too, including the coffee. Booking online and changing details or checking out through the app or front desk was easy. As an IHG Hotels & Resorts member, I also like being able to earn points wherever I stay. My King Suite did have a damp, wet sort of smell when I first came in, but it faded and was less noticeable a few hours later.

The bed was the most comfortable one I’ve ever slept in. I slept so well and woke up refreshed, which doesn’t usually happen when I travel. Breakfast was fresh, well arranged, and better than I expected, and the hotel itself was clean, cared for, and inviting. Every staff member was friendly and helpful, and we felt welcome the whole time. This Holiday Inn went above and beyond with its service. I’ll definitely return to this location and recommend it to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable stay with great service.

Breakfast was good, and the rooms were nice and clean. The walls are very thin, though. We could hear the couple next door having sex throughout the night, and I was glad we didn’t have young kids with us. Our room would open without a key. We went down to the front desk, and staff came back upstairs with us to check it. Then we had to go downstairs again to switch rooms and head back up to the new one.

The smell hits you as soon as you walk in, and it’s overwhelming. We had a problem with our stay, and the front desk woman seemed sure they’d fix it, but GM Scott shut that down and made accusations I believe were false. He was extremely rude, and there was no customer service. I’m a diamond elite member and will absolutely never stay here again.

For the price, the accommodations are great. Bartow is centrally located for access to about half a dozen Duke Energy power plants. Breakfast is always served on time and fresh, and the hosts are very friendly.
