OYO Superior Budget Inn Bartow

I booked through booking.com and paid $81.43 in the app. At the property, I paid another $50 as a deposit, and the guy let me tap to pay and said it would be refunded. I’ve now waited the 7-14 business days and still haven’t received it. No one answers when I try to contact the property, so I’m assuming they scam people. The room was nice, I can say that, but I won’t book here again.

The photos don’t show the place as it really is. The rooms are dirty and have holes in the walls. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The owner was incredibly rude and wouldn’t help when I complained. He said they’d been there 20 years, the rooms were good enough for other guests, and they weren’t going to do anything for me. His wife was extremely rude too once she found out I had room problems. He seemed paranoid and unwelcoming. There’s no motel lobby, part of the motel is the owner’s house, and he’s also a realtor and Uhaul renter. This place is as run down as it gets, and the rooms are disgusting. None of the doors have weatherstripping, so bugs can come in. There’s a busted screen above the door, not a window, letting all the cold AC out. The ceiling has burn marks, the microwave is rusted out, and there’s mold or mildew on all the tables. Seriously, this motel is horrible.

My husband booked a room for two workers who were in town. The room was disgusting when they arrived, so a guy changed it for them. The next night, the electricity to the TV, fridge, and microwave stopped working. No one even looked at it until the following night. I don’t recommend staying there. It should be closed down.
