After trying to make it work for about six hours, we finally had to leave. The whole building smelled strongly unpleasant, and the common-area carpets looked filthy, moldy, and neglected. There was visible black mold in the room too. Photos and descriptions online are extremely misleading about the property’s current condition, which looked severely neglected, unsafe, and unsanitary. From the start, our first room was in terrible shape: the door was missing basic hardware and wouldn’t lock properly, so we had to push a table in front of it to stop anyone from entering. None of the lights worked, several outlets were dead, and some were missing safety covers. The curtains weren’t properly attached, the bed frame was unstable from inadequate support, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. When we contacted maintenance, we were told the hotel is constantly in use and they can’t keep up with the needed repairs, as if guests should accept these conditions. We couldn’t find visible smoke or carbon monoxide detectors or any fire extinguishers. The elevator was out of order, leaving guests to use stairs that looked unsafe, and the ice machines didn’t work. There was no breakfast, the “waterpark” wasn’t operating, and there was no fitness center or bar. Even the provided coffee and tea bags had already been used. This was far beyond a disappointing stay. It seemed like an unsafe, unsanitary environment with serious maintenance and safety failures. I’m extremely concerned the property is still operating and believe it needs immediate inspection and intervention before more guests face these conditions.
We paid $227.00 for the night and just left. The room smelled awful, the bathroom light didn’t work, the ceilings were stained, and the coffee pot was broken. The carpets felt sticky, while the molding was peeling off the walls and hanging down onto the floors. I’m not usually one to ask management for a refund, but I wanted to warn others about these conditions. This place needs a renovation to justify the price!
We tried to make the best of the dirty room at first, but the bed was like a seesaw when I sat on it. There were three of us and we had only one washcloth and two towels. The elevator on the way to our second-floor room wouldn’t work, even when we held the button panel and tried to press the floor button, so we used the stairs and walked through a dirty, dingy hallway. When I called the desk, they said someone would come fix the bed because there were no other rooms available. We waited an hour before going out, and when we returned, nobody had done anything. The only person working the desk said they couldn’t leave it unattended, so I figured I’d put up with it for the night and ask to move the next morning. I walked the entire second floor looking for ice, then went to the first floor and found a machine that didn’t work. Nobody was at the desk when I went to ask where a working one might be, so I gave up and went to bed. The next day we were moved to a first-floor suite, but it had old, beat-up furniture, dirt, stains, a smell, and no TV. They said they’d bring a TV and linens for the pull-out bed. Three hours later, after we’d gone to the water park and come back, nobody had shown up. Finally a guy brought a TV, but the outlet didn’t work. He left to get an extension cord and never returned. I found one and tried every outlet, but none worked. Then I saw a cockroach running across the sink while I was using the bathroom. The Wi-Fi was out and they said they were working on it. At the arcade, the games didn’t work after I put money in and just ate it. When I told the desk, they said they didn’t own the machines, and there was no refund. The owners obviously don’t care about upkeep or cleanliness. Absolutely do not recommend. Sad.
There were holes in the walls and curtains, along with bugs, stains, and things missing from the room. The water park wasn’t open, and the rooms looked nothing like the pictures. I spent the night worrying about bed bugs, then went straight to the laundromat down the street after we left to wash everything we’d brought into the inn. Eww. This place is disgusting. Don’t stay here.
The A/C worked well, and my interactions with the staff were decent, but the hotel has a lot of potential that’s being squandered because it’s run down. I can’t tell whether that’s on the staff or the owners for not putting money back into the business. My whole five-night stay had internet that was about like high-speed Roadrunner from 20 years ago, so have your hotspot ready. Breakfast was provided on fewer than half the mornings. I had to pay $20 per kid per day for the water park, even though we had a room. Only one elevator worked, and its whole control panel was falling out. The A/C framework had fallen off and wasn’t secured. For the first few nights, the whole floor smelled like a dead animal. The stairways looked like they hadn’t been cleaned or improved in decades. Everything needs an overhaul, from the carpets and walls to every room’s furniture. Promising included breakfast when it doesn’t show up, along with terrible internet, is just inexcusable. I’d only recommend staying here if you’re desperate and need a room for one night.
