Holiday Inn Express & Suites Batesville by IHG

The cooked breakfast was good, though it was the same each day. We picked this place because of its indoor pool, which the kids enjoyed, and because we were visiting family nearby. But a week of hearing people walking overhead all night left us without a good night's sleep. My family was on the ground floor and relatives were on the second, and both rooms had the same problem. I'd ask for the top floor if you stay, so nobody's above you sounding like a herd of elephants. After this, I'd consider staying somewhere else.

The kids did enjoy the free breakfast, but I wasn't happy with our stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites. I expected the price to be $149, plus a $30 temporary incidental fee. The room was just a double queen, nothing fancy, and the bed sagged badly in the middle and made my already sore back hurt more. It was drafty, and although the bathroom sink had hot water, the shower had none at all. On one of the coldest days of 2025, I couldn't take a cold shower.

The room was okay, but the phone didn't work, the Wi-Fi was awful, and the refrigerator was broken too. I paid $145 plus a refundable room insurance deposit, and it felt like a $75-a-night place at best. Definitely not coming back.

The cabinet in the room was tilted because the floor bowed. Upstairs, the floors felt weak and sank underfoot, cracking with every step. I'm only 165, but walking to the bathroom sounded like a 400lb person. The people below banged on their ceiling, thinking we were having a party, and we nearly got a noise complaint even though we weren't doing anything.
