Checking out was just as frustrating as check-in. I waited eight or nine minutes for someone to come so I could get a receipt, then left the key cards on the desk. I even checked several doors marked management and employees only, but nobody was available. The room wasn't very clean either, and again there was no one at the front desk. Luckily, we had cleaning wipes with us. When we arrived, I waited about eight minutes to be helped, and the man seemed annoyed. Only my husband's name was on the reservation, even though the woman who booked it by phone had repeated promotions and prices several times, added both our names, and taken a card number. No payment showed as taken. The attached photos don't do the room justice. If you can stay elsewhere, please do. This hotel needs a remodel and staff training.

The beds were clean, which is the only reason we didn't sleep in the car. We booked at short notice and couldn't find somewhere else that wasn't twice the price. The rest of the room was gross: dog food kept coming up the drain, the dresser, table, and nightstand were visibly dirty, and there was something purple in the AC. For a smoke-free hotel, the smoke smell was awful, like the person next door was a train, and the gaps in the door were big enough to see through. Check-in took about 10 to 15 minutes, with no way to let anyone know we were waiting, and the front desk person wasn't very hospitable. In a pinch, this might be worth $50 a night, but not over $100.

We were given a room that was completely torn apart, though the front desk quickly fixed that. They couldn't offer another room on the first floor, so we had to haul our suitcases upstairs. The mold smell in the replacement room was overwhelming, and the rusty metal showed it had been a problem for a long time. The hallway smelled when we arrived too. The Wi-Fi didn't work, but by then I just wanted to get out. Worst hotel I've ever been in. Choice Hotels really dropped the ball here.

After the power came back on Monday, they asked all the guests to leave so linemen could stay at the hotel. Some guests had nowhere else to go. I understand the linemen needed beds, but there were other places they could have been put together, with cots set up for them. My husband and I usually stay here when he's in town because we're living with one of our daughters and her family. I'm from Batesville, and during this ice storm the power went out, leaving our room freezing. I was already sick when I checked in, and nobody once checked whether they could help any of the guests. My husband fetched extra blankets, then we had to go to his rig to warm up before leaving. I'll never give them my business again.

Blood stains on the carpet in both rooms we got, and one smelled strongly of weed. My girlfriend and I both woke with bites on our hands and feet. The front desk man didn't want to talk and looked like he wanted to kill us. Gross place, looked like somewhere someone would overdose.
