Courtyard Baton Rouge Acadian Centre/LSU Area

We had a clean, comfortable room facing the courtyard, and it stayed quiet despite the nearby interstate and train tracks. The front desk staff welcomed us and made us feel at home. Dinner was easy since the hotel shares a parking lot with an Outback Steakhouse, just steps away. Breakfast is served in the lobby cafe. The courtyard is lovely, with little conversation pits around the pool and tables and chairs for eating outside during those rare stretches when Southeast Louisiana is tolerable. Our only complaint was that the bed felt a little too firm.

The staff went out of their way to handle some accessibility requests for our room, and even contacted me to make sure everything would be up to standard. The room was clean and a decent size for the price of a guest king room. There are several restaurants right nearby that deliver to the hotel, and downtown is about a 10-minute drive. It's a good family stop if you're passing through. You can count on a Marriott stay.

The staff were all friendly and attentive to whether we were happy. Kennedi checked us in and was delightful. Courtney was kind, helpful, and taught us a little about local culture. Kelly went above and beyond helping with a technology problem involving my Kindle and the wi-fi. Breakfast at the Bistro was a pleasant surprise, made to order with plenty of choices, including lattes. I hope other Marriott properties consider this option. Thanks, Marriott Acadian, for a great stay. I'd rate you a 10!

The rooms are great and the hotel is okay, but check-in was tedious and confusing. They assigned us someone else's room because we had the same last name, then changed that person's reservation information. The clerk started taking all our details as if making a new booking that cost more, and had deleted the other guest's reservation. When we got to the room, it was the wrong type, so we had to go through the process all over again. The hotel is just off the highway, which is convenient, but leaving the property can be a pain because the traffic light takes a long time to change and doesn't seem properly timed.
