Embassy Suites Hotel Baton Rouge

It was nice to see families enjoying the indoor pool, and I did enjoy my stay outside the room. The hotel itself was beautiful, and Lyna was especially welcoming and kind. My room, though, seemed to need a deep clean. The tub was peeling, and stains on the carpet looked a little alarming. I couldn’t tell whether they were from liquid or bodily fluids. There was also plastic or something similar across the bedroom window, so I assumed there might be construction going on.

The staff were friendly, which was about the only thing this hotel had going for it. The room was spacious, but not very nice, and the hallway outside smelled musty. The bed was very uncomfortable, with small, flat pillows. The bathroom and shower were awful, and they left just one towel, barely big enough to dry a baby. The AC didn’t cool the room well either. I won’t stay here again.

The bed was comfortable and firm in the way I like, and the AC worked well and got nice and cold. The atmosphere felt a little dated, and there were stained patches of carpet around the place, almost as if it had been or still was pet friendly. Happy hour either started late or didn’t happen on Easter Sunday. Then the breakfast station closed an hour early on Monday morning, which was a bummer.

Breakfast was really good, the location is hard to beat, and the staff and customer service were top tier. I saw staff cleaning throughout the day, every day, and they did a great job keeping the place clean. The hotel looks great from the outside, and the atrium is beautiful, with plenty of lounge seats for hanging out. The rooms could use a major upgrade, though. They feel stuck in the 1970s, and that brown carpet needs to go. The rooms are indoors but open onto outside corridors, so sound from guests downstairs in the atrium echoes up. It’s noticeable, but not too bad.
