La Quinta Inn & Suites Baton Rouge Seigan Lane

Our stay was quiet, and the room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and good running water. Housekeeping on our floor was nice and brought towels daily. The desk attendants were okay, greeting you when you greeted them. Breakfast starts at 7, but there was very little food: poor waffles and slim pickings. The area was filthy, with spilled sugar, cereal and milk, plus used plates and napkins on the counters and tables. No attendant was there, and the front desk didn't seem concerned when I reported it. Our TV picture was badly distorted too. It feels like guests booking through a third party get less satisfactory rooms, with scratched furniture and broken TVs, than those paying the full rate through the hotel's site.

The room was dirty, the hotel smelled bad as soon as we walked in, the toilet wouldn't flush, and there were roaches. Before booking, I called to ask if there was a pool and was told yes, only to be told on arrival that it was under maintenance. After we changed rooms twice, they still wouldn't refund us. We had to buy cleaning supplies and brought our own sheets just to sleep. Wouldn't recommend it.

I've spent over 300 nights in hotels for work, good, average and bad, and this room was easily the worst. The drywall on the ceiling was sagging and black, and the section over the window looked ready to fall. There was a lot of black mold. Hallway carpets smelled bad and had gross stains everywhere. The front landscaping was gone, leaving bare dirt. Breakfast was a joke: two tiny Fruit Loops yogurts, weak, barely warm coffee, a broken orange and apple juice dispenser, and three or four gray pork sausages sitting in grease. I could go on, but won't. Wyndom is a brand I won't trust again. I and Expedia both asked for a refund, but the owner refused both requests. Don't stay here.

The room was filthy, and our bed was covered in yellow stains. When we told the front desk, they said they were fully booked, couldn't give us another room, and had no one available to change the sheets, so we'd have to strip the bed ourselves. We wouldn't touch it. Only after we were in the lobby calling Expedia to make sure we could get a refund and check out did the receptionist suddenly have another room for us. I've never had a problem with La Quinta before, but the cleanliness here is very questionable.
