Origin Baton Rouge, a Wyndham Hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful, which added to a great stay at the Origin Hotel in Baton Rouge. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well kept. It’s close to the river and convenient for getting around, with a welcoming atmosphere. I’d definitely stay here again.

The room quality, nearby amenities, and friendly service had already made me think this was a five-star stay, but what happened after checkout settled it. An hour down the road, I realized I’d left behind a very special gift from my daughter. The front desk found it, boxed it up, and personally took it to the post office. It arrived safe and sound two days later. Not many hotels would go that extra mile after a guest has left. Special thanks to Korey for taking such good care of it.

A ceiling leak woke us in the middle of the night, and the room itself was clearly not clean when we arrived. The bed had been made, but it looked like someone had already slept in it, and shoe marks covered the floor. The staff were kind and quickly moved us to another room, and breakfast was fine. Still, the stay was disappointing.

The bar had plenty of drink choices, and the bartender knew the selection well. The menu mixes familiar favorites with Louisiana dishes and other flavors. I also liked how relaxed and friendly the hotel felt, and it was clean. You can walk to the Raising Cane’s River Center, casinos, downtown Baton Rouge nightlife, and other events. The staff were courteous and knew what was going on around Baton Rouge. I plan to stay at The Origin Hotel again soon.
