The front staff were pleasant for the most part, and this place could be better, but it feels poorly managed, with little response from the owners. I wanted to go cheap, and that’s what I got. I ignored earlier reviews and regret it. There were no hangers, dishcloth, or toilet paper. The laundry lock had a hole and didn’t work. My room door didn’t self-lock and sat too high above the carpet to use a doorstop. The pool doors also didn’t lock, which is a security concern. It was cold, the heat was inconsistent, and I couldn’t figure out where the draft was coming from. The bathroom sink had poor water pressure, so the kitchen faucet was better. The hallway carpet looked neglected and unclean. Where is Marriott Corporation? Is there no quality oversight? For now, spend a little more and pick a Marriott with better ratings.

I wasn’t comfortable staying in this room. There were old chicken wings in the trash when we arrived, a noticeable hole in the counter that hadn’t been repaired, and visible blood stains on the mattresses. The beds were the most concerning part, and that’s completely unacceptable and unhygienic. The room felt dirty and poorly maintained. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The location is great, but after staying two months for work, I’d say this is one of the worst Marriotts. It’s not the absolute worst place, but it’s close. Management seems to have issues and apparently doesn’t care about service or cleanliness. You’ll need to clean everything yourself. There were repeated fire alarms, virtually no maintenance, a shabby exterior, minimal cleaning, and tiny towels. The kitchen had no dishwasher soap, coffee, baking pans, bowls, or utensils. Breakfast was worse than at a cheap hotel. There was no NBC, so no Super Bowl, Olympics, or The Voice. Trash sat in the yard, it took three days to get a do-not-disturb sign, and the front desk staff knew nothing or didn’t care. Exterior doors didn’t secure and slammed, and rooms were left open overnight. Go to Waffle House for breakfast.

We came for the LSU game and the overwhelmed desk clerk said they were waiting for a truck to bring more keys when I asked for a second one. The room seemed okay at first, then we realized it was accessible. I called to ask about switching, but the hotel was sold out, so we stayed. The shower head was loose and sprayed water from the shower all the way into the bedroom. We asked for a towel and got just one. After the game the next day, we found that housekeeping had taken the old towels but hadn’t cleaned the rest of the room. When I asked for more towels, the desk said they were out, though the clerk eventually found two large towels and two hand towels for the three of us to share. Breakfast was a 3/10, and the waffle maker was out but didn’t work.

Why charge extra for a kitchen suite when there are no utensils, pots, pans, or plates? I was also told I’d get washcloths after asking the morning attendant following my first night, but after work there still weren’t any, so I had to return to the service desk. I don’t recommend this place. The suite door also has a bad hinge and won’t close unless I lift it up myself. It still hasn’t been fixed.
