Giant City Lodge

The Bluff cabins were huge and tucked away in the woods, with plenty of privacy. We loved staying there, and the hiking trails were A+. The family who run the lodge and restaurant were wonderful and helped us find other attractions in the area. The restaurant staff were so nice and went out of their way to accommodate our special requests for our toddler. The lodge has loads of character and is impressive inside. It’s the kind of place you’d happily relax in all day, if you didn’t have so much else to do. Such a hidden gem in this part of the country.

Finally got to cross this place off my bucket list! The restaurant has a cozy lodge feel, with a big fireplace and lots of windows looking out at the park. It’s a nice spot to sit, relax, and recharge after a couple hours on the trails. We were starving when we arrived. Fried chicken is what they’re known for, but we still had more hiking to do, so I went with something lighter. The chicken sandwich was really tasty.

We stopped at the Lodge for lunch with nine people, and they seated us at a nice round table. We had the fried chicken family style. The food was good, the service was good, and nobody left hungry.

The service was terrible. Our server never checked whether we wanted another cocktail or dessert, and when we asked for water refills, the water had no ice. The food was cold, and the dumplings tasted like dishwater. My family had come from out of town, and we chose the lodge for dinner. It was a very disappointing experience. This was my first and last visit. The place is very overrated, and I can do better myself!
