Sonesta Essential - Baton Rouge Airport

The bedding was stained and smelled like cigarettes, and I saw a roach. The place was disgustingly dirty, and breakfast was just stale bread and cereal with milk that smelled sour. I asked for a refund so I could stay elsewhere, but at night they said they couldn't do it until morning. When I asked again in the morning, they said someone from management would contact me. I will be contacting the Louisiana Department of Health and Consumer Services about this. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Even with the air set to 62 on high, the room stayed so hot that I woke up sweating. The floors were dirty, the toilet and walls were stained, the paint job was awful, and there was a roach crawling on the TV. At 9:50 in the morning someone knocked to ask if we were staying another night. We said no, we were checking out at 11. My husband and I have never stayed somewhere this bad. Spend a little more and stay somewhere nice. We won't be back.

We were told clean bedding would be put on while we were out at the game, after I reported the stained sheets, hairs and crumbs. Hours later, nothing had been changed, and there were no towels or soap either. The young woman who answered my complaint call was the only good thing about the place. She brought me bedding and towels right away, though the "new" bedding was stained too. I felt disgusting and didn't want to stay there. We wished we could leave, but there was nothing available nearby. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here.

Before I lay down, I saw a bed bug crawl out where I'd been sitting earlier. When I first got to the room, one bed had sheets but no top blanket, and there wasn't a spare in the closet, so I had to get one from the front desk. Disgusting and unacceptable. The pool was green and poorly kept, the bathroom hadn't been fully cleaned, and the TV was damaged with a strong blue tint. Stay away if you expect even the bare minimum.
