Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Battle Creek MI

The beds were comfortable and the pillows fluffy, and breakfast was really good. The front desk was friendly and on point. No issues overall, and I’d stay again. The room vent was tucked away and not very noticeable, but it was hanging by one screw. Pool hours were 10 am to 10 pm, though I didn’t use it. I would’ve liked more TV channels or movies.

I didn’t expect a five-star stay, but this was much worse than I’d anticipated. Basic water and the pool were unavailable for half the stay. Once water came back on, I asked if the pool water had been tested and was told it was okay, though I never saw a log. After swimming, blue residue drained from my left ear. I was also woken by what I thought was a fire alarm. I grabbed my daughter, put her shoes on, and went downstairs, only to find a nonchalant desk man and no emergency. There were no other guests in the lobby either, which felt weird. The bathroom wasn’t clean when I arrived, and when I glimpsed the “hold” log, I couldn’t tell what determined the charge. Mine was $100. The ice machine on my floor didn’t work either, lol. I’d suggest lowering your expectations.

The people here are very kind and helpful. It feels like a family at this Country Inn, and they’ve helped me a couple of times when I asked them to get other guests to move their cars out of the parking lines. They did it, but they can’t control how people park, and finding a good spot means arriving early. That’s my only issue, and it’s caused by other guests, not the hotel. I love this place. The service is great, the people are nice, and I’d give the hotel five stars for everything. It’s the best hotel I’ve stayed in for years, maybe the best ever.

We stayed here a long time while looking for temporary housing, which is hard when you’re working 6-10s. It cost a little more, but every penny felt worth it. The breakfast was great, and this was the first time I’ve enjoyed a free hotel breakfast, even though we travel all over the country and stay in lots of hotels. The staff were so nice. The young woman on mornings and the older gentleman on nights were awesome, and the housekeeping lady and gentleman were incredibly sweet with great customer service. The rooms were clean and the hot water was reliable. Best of all, they don’t bang on the door at 9 am. Leave the Do Not Disturb sign up and they let you sleep. I’ll definitely recommend it to other people in the trades. Thanks for everything.
