OYO Hotel Port Richey North

The room was clean, the shower had hot water and very good pressure, and the staff were friendly. The location worked well for visiting my sister, who lives less than five miles away, and it's right on Hwy 19. Rates were reasonable for the area. The beds were a bit hard but usable. Still, I'm giving it one star because of the late checkout issue. I'm a Choice Diamond Member, but when I asked for late checkout they offered only an extra half hour and wanted $25. Diamond members aren't supposed to be charged for late checkout, and half an hour is pretty lame. There were also lots of loud people hanging around outside, some obvious druggies, and an ambulance was arriving as we left. Probably someone OD'd. I won't be back, and I'll warn my family when they visit my sister.

The hotel feels tired, but our room was clean and the staff handling both check-in and check-out were pleasant. The non-smoking room was fine, though as soon as you stepped outside, people were smoking by their rooms. Shower pressure was abysmal. I don't have any other complaints.

There are lots of food options nearby, and the property is close to Hudson C and port st Richey. I really like the plants and trees around the grounds, and manager Stephanie took time to chat about them. Everyone working here is super friendly, listens, and tries to accommodate you, which made us feel welcome. Housekeeping keeps the rooms in good shape. For longer stays, they clean once a week and take care of the air conditioning filters. I'd highly recommend this place.

The room was very clean, and the staff were friendly. The bathroom was spotless with no smell or marks, and the bed was clean and medium-firm. The only bad part was the electrical breaker. On the second night, I had the TV on and microwaved something for two minutes. Just as I was about to open the door to get the food, the breaker tripped and left my food locked inside. The room went dark, except for power to the bathroom mirror and AC.
