Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Portland-NW Downtown by IHG

We were there during some remodeling, but the workers only worked in the daytime and kept the noise down. The location made it easy to walk to lots of restaurants, and it was a short drive to other places. Parking was free, the breakfast was good, and the pool and hot tub were just the right temperature. The rooms were clean and every staff member I met was really nice. I stayed three nights this past week and plan to come back.

The view from our room included one of the bridges, and the location was good. Staff were friendly and breakfast was really good. Beds were comfortable, with two kinds of pillows, one fluffy and one firmer. The blackout curtains did a great job against the city lights. The shower pressure was weak, which was a letdown. The free upper parking can fill up on a busy weekend, though the lower lot has spaces for a small fee.

The bathroom had Dove products that smelled really good, and my room was quiet. The view wasn't much, but I didn't mind. I used to work at a higher-end IHG property and was surprised by how good this stay was for the price. My old workplace charged much more and didn't offer nearly as many amenities. The staff were all polite, and I appreciated that. The area may look a bit sketchy, possibly industrial, but as someone from a big city I found it fine. I took a walk at night for fresh air and saw nothing unusual. There was minor maintenance in the morning around 10 or 11. I only noticed it after pausing my video, and the workers weren't loud. I'll stay here again next time I'm in portland. I'd recommend it, and thanks for making the trip pleasant, PDX Holiday Inn!

I was in town for a congress meeting and out most of the day, but I really enjoyed my stay and would come back. The room layout worked well, and I loved the bathroom mirror that lights up, it gave the room a luxurious feel. Everything inside felt comfortable and safe, though I admit I was a little nervous walking out to my car at night. The hotel felt clean and fresh. I like places that include breakfast, but I can't remember getting any complimentary breakfast, so maybe it was the timing of our stay or something else.
