We got a good price, especially compared with the overpriced hotels nearby. The rooms were spacious, with kitchens, and the front desk lent us pans so we could make homemade Mac n cheese. We stayed three days last weekend and enjoyed it. The rooms and bathrooms smelled fresh and were clean, and the staff were friendly. The pool looked inviting, though we didn’t use it, and breakfast was great as well. I’ll definitely stay again.

The smell in my room was very strong, like pets. I’m a pet person too, but extra cleaning seems needed sometimes. I’m grateful I had Odoban and could open the window. After spraying a lot and leaving it open, the odor improved quite a bit. The room was also dirty, and trash bits stayed on the hallway carpet for my entire two-night stay. There also appeared to be a small bit of dog poop there. I didn’t see any housekeeping staff during those two days. The front desk clerk deserves five stars: she was very nice, polite, and seemed focused on customer service. She also looked overworked and was the only hotel employee I saw. I hope frustrated guests don’t take it out on her, since her ability to fix what seem to be ongoing problems is limited.

We were exhausted, had nowhere else to go on short notice, and didn’t have enough money to change hotels. After spraying disinfectant and going back and forth between our rooms, we thought we could finally sleep despite the strong smells in rooms *** and ***. We all rested, but on Saturday morning my sister was itchy and our asthma was getting worse. She had three or four tiny bumps, which we thought might be mosquito bites. The floor under the air conditioner was wet, and we realized that was where the smell came from and what was triggering our asthma. We sprayed ourselves with mosquito spray and headed out for a hot, beautiful, fun day of activities. After buying things at Walmart and dollar general and getting dinner, we ate, showered, and were ready for bed around 8 p.m. Around midnight, my sister woke up very itchy and said it felt like things were crawling on her. Because of the mold smell and the smells from all the dogs we saw at the hotel, we thought of fleas and searched the beds again. We found tiny white and red bugs. When we killed one, it was full of blood. We were horrified. We’d never seen bed bugs before, but after researching, we learned that’s what they were and that they’d been biting us since the night before. We contacted the front desk, took photos and videos, and rushed outside. We weren’t sure whether to take anything besides our clothes and luggage, since search results gave mixed advice about possibly infested belongings. It was new and frightening, and we didn’t know what might have bugs. Such a disappointment for a Wyndham property. Earlier, we’d needed a cot for the kids but were told there were none left. We asked for a coffee pot for room *** and were also told none were available. Room *** had one, but it was very dirty and something inside was broken, so we left it alone for safety.

The bed in the replacement room was so hard it felt like sleeping on the floor, and I woke up with neck and back pain every day. The room was a little cleaner, but still smelled unusual. I think the A/C filter may have been causing that. Its light fixtures were rusty too, though not as badly as in the first room. We asked for help after finding the first room musty and in poor shape, and the afternoon clerk moved us. Before that, the front desk clerk had been rude. Our online confirmation showed a 2 p.m. check-in, and we arrived at 1:45, but she kept pointing at the sign saying 3 p.m. and ignored us when we tried to explain and show her the reservation. In the first room, there were rusty metal fixtures, a dirty bathroom exhaust fan, crumbs by the kitchen cabinets, an unexplained mark on the refrigerator, peeling paint on the window, and the tub and sink needed caulking. It wasn’t worth the money, and I’d never stay here again.

The manager was super nice and tried to help as much as she could, but the place was just okay. It smelled like mold throughout, and there were several dehumidifiers in the hallways, so there was clearly a problem. Bugs showed up in the bathroom more than once, and the fridge was dirty. It wasn’t the cleanest, either. The fresh ceiling paint looked like it might have been put over water stains.
