We arrived around 11 p.m. and waited while the clerk checked in someone else. A young Black man came out and got us checked in quickly. The hotel itself was run down, old, and dirty, and the elevator felt overdue for service. Breakfast was bare minimum: I grabbed mini muffins for the kids at 8 a.m., and the waffle batter was gone. There were some people around I didn't want my babies near. I hadn't realized it was that kind of place when I booked. The room was the worst part. The fan was loud on its high setting, the room stank, and the carpet was damp. After nearly a two-hour drive, we decided to put up with it for the night and see if it was still an issue the next day. We got up early for our tournament and the floor was still wet. We hadn't unpacked because we didn't want our clothes to take on the smell. We were out all day and came back around 8 or 9, exhausted, and it was just the same. My husband spoke to an employee in the hallway. He looked scared and said we must have one of the “humid rooms,” then offered to bring a dehumidifier. We were exhausted again, and they could at least have moved us. There wasn't a reasonably priced hotel nearby, and after our day we didn't want to move ourselves and the kids. The next day the dehumidifier hadn't helped the floor. We don't know if there was mold, bacteria, or something else, so we're weighing our legal options and think the hotel needs a health inspection. Whether guests pay $10 or $100, the hotel should provide a hospitable environment, and it fell short. I hope they improve it. I chose it based on some reviews, and now I'm wondering if those were real.

Sydney at check-in was amazing, so sweet to me, and housekeeping was lovely too. I really appreciate all their hard work. I planned to stay two nights, but enjoyed it so much that I added another. I love this place and can't wait to return. Sydney, thanks for everything ❤️

The best part for me was being close to what I needed to do, and that was priceless. This hotel has a lot going for it for anyone visiting Baytown, whether you're enjoying the industrial scenery and refineries or just relaxing in that fresh refinery air. Cracker Barrel and Waffle House are nearby for food. The steady traffic from America's busiest freeway, I-10, may lull you to sleep.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel is dog-friendly for a fee. The elevator was missing its door-close button and didn't go to the second floor at the time, while the third-floor ice machine was out of service. Breakfast had self-serve waffles in regular or Texas shapes, cereal, and hard-boiled eggs, with coffee, OJ, or milk to drink. If your dog is loud, you're good.

The front desk lady was professional and welcoming, and otherwise we had a good stay. Just remember the hotel is right off I-10. We were in a room closest to the highway and heard every vehicle all night. I hadn't realized that beforehand and just dealt with it. I'm not sure how it is at the other end of the hotel.
