Our room had serious problems, and the way the charges and checkout were handled made the stay even worse. I was quoted $120 a night during an event at the raceway, but they later asked for $180 and then offered $140. The room wasn’t worth $50. They charged $30 for checking in about two hours early, even though the place was empty, and $22.50 for a one-hour late checkout. We’d packed and were waiting by the door for our Uber when, at 11:30, a man pounded on the door and told us to go. We’re in our 50s, don’t party or drink, kept quiet, and I cleaned the room myself. The desk woman had been told we’d stay a few days, which we did, but she got angry and made comments about it when we checked out a couple days later. One man also accused me of checking booking.com for their rate before I came to him. Of course I had, since that’s where I originally booked. Very weird. The bathroom was frightening. The shower’s sliding glass door was attached only at the top and swung around, while the other side wouldn’t move. I was scared it might fall while I was showering. There was a big hole in the ceiling above the shower head, both ends of the bathroom light were broken, and German roaches were in the sink on our first night. The furniture was taped together, which felt like a safety hazard. There was hardly any water pressure, and we had to beg for toilet paper. There were no blankets between the sheets and the 50-year-old bedspread. Staff gave conflicting advice about the washer and dryer. One said they weren’t meant for normal laundry, only things from the beach; another said the set was wonderful for good clothes. I’ve never written a motel review this long, but a month later I still couldn’t let it go. If you can get past the Hindu gods displayed prominently at the entrance and office, and don’t mind roaches, this is the place for you. It’s been family-owned for the last 20 years.

There were roaches everywhere in the room, and it had a strange smell. I wouldn’t stay here. I booked through booking.com and arrived late, paid the $50 cash deposit, and wrote down three guests on the form. The man said my daughter would mean an extra fee plus tax, then told me to just give him $20 and we’d be good. He also said checkout was at 10am, but offered to upgrade the room to an ocean view. I don’t care about the view, I just came to sleep.

Needed a room at the last minute, and they came through at a good price. It’s right on the beach, with ocean view balconies, and parking is free while other hotels on the strip charge for it. The rooms were clean, had cold AC, and seemed well maintained. Great value, and I’d stay again.

My husband and son are now safely settled in another hotel without mold, rodents, or cockroaches. In the second room, there was mold around the shower window and brown spots on the bathroom ceiling. The next morning, my son moved the dresser to check what the spots might be and found rodent poop. He also smelled rodent urine when he opened the vanity and found a disconnected smoke detector inside. They went to the race, then came back to a live cockroach crawling out from under the bed. They’d first been put in a room where part of the shower ceiling was coming off, with a large patch of mold nearby and a big hole around the showerhead where it came through the wall. When they went to ask for a different room, another guest was complaining about brown water from their faucet. They should have left right then.

Avoid this hotel. We booked two double-bed rooms, but at check-in they said only one adult could stay in each room. There were six of us, and they charged $20 per adult, adding $90 for what they called four extra adults. At checkout, their behavior was awful too. Checkout was at 10:30, and around 10:20 they came and pushed us out with their attitude, not literally. They don’t serve breakfast, just coffee. The whole experience was really, really bad. Not recommended.
