The highlight was seeing planes arrive on Saturday morning, taxiing along the town streets to the hotel for breakfast. A 1947 Beechcraft Bonanza came in right at sunrise, a historic plane a lot like the Waikiki Beech, which Bill Odem flew across the country in 1949 when he set a record. We were bicycle touring through the area in October and stayed in the covered wagon. It was a lovely place to stay, glamping at its finest. We also had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant, where the food was wonderful and the staff very friendly. Beaumont, Kansas surprised us with its beauty and charm.

The steak, loaded baked potato, and green beans were terrific. I had to take some home. You won't leave hungry.

Had the Sunday special, roast beef with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. Excellent, exactly what I expected from an original dinner! 👍👍👍👍👍

The people here really do make you feel like family, and the food and service are still great. I was glad to get a room at The Beaumont for two nights over Memorial Day weekend while going to a school reunion in a nearby small town. I hadn't stayed there before, but years ago I stopped at the cafe for lunch. The good food, friendly service, and learning about its history made it unforgettable. The current staff aren't the same people from back then, but they still made the experience special. They told me Saturday night was Karaoke night and invited me to join after my reunion activities. I did, and it was such a fun night! Thanks to Jeanne, Diana, Annie, Erin, and all the fine folks from the Beaumont area who made my stay memorable.

We stopped for the second night of a three-day motorcycle trip on the FHAT (Flint Hills Adventure Trail), and I'd definitely stay again. The restaurant was great, especially the chicken fried steak, and they opened a tab for each of us so we could settle up at the end of the evening. The hotel, built in 1879, has lots of photos and memorabilia that tell its story, while the rooms are updated with modern amenities and well appointed. While we were there, a plane landed and taxied right up to the hotel. It was a very nice stay.
