Regency Inn Suites

The front desk staff and owner are friendly and do their best to help with whatever you need. They work to resolve problems quickly and kindly, and try to make your stay peaceful. The rooms are very clean, and after your first stay you’ll want to come back. I’m only giving three stars for location because College Street is usually busy, and depending which way you’re coming from, getting into or out of the driveway can be hard.

The room was clean, though dated, with sections of carpet cut out and replaced with the same carpet. We checked in after choosing the hotel specifically for the pools, then asked about pool hours and were told there wasn’t a pool at all. Such a disappointment, especially for the kids. It was already dark, so we settled in. No one gave us breakfast times at check-in, either. We were just shuffled through.

I paid almost $80 for one night, and the room smelled like I was sleeping beside a dumpster. Their so-called continental breakfast was so poor that a homeless person might get a better one. There ought to be city or county standards for places to maintain basic conditions. I left frustrated, and next time I’d rather sleep in my car than waste money here. Worst place. I wish I could give negative stars.

My car broke down and I got stranded in Beaumont, so the tow truck driver brought me to Regency. The owner was kind and sympathetic, and put me in a very nice ground floor room. Everything was very clean, the bed was great, the AC fantastic, and the shower hot. The bathroom was clean, too. There was a huge TV that I didn’t use. I was really happy with the service and room. Several fast food spots, including Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, and Chik Fil A, are within walking distance. Highly recommend.
