The Glenmark, Glendale, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

For what they charge, I expected a proper Marriott stay. This felt more like a basic roadside hotel than a premium property, and Google’s 5-star listing is hard for me to understand. At best, it was a 2-star experience. The bed called a “king” was clearly a queen. The bathroom workmanship was poor, and the shower enclosure didn’t have full glass coverage, so water got everywhere. It even leaked to the floor below and maintenance had to inspect it. Marriott needs to take a look at this property and make sure it lives up to what members expect from the brand.

Alondra at the front desk was the real highlight of our visit. She was professional, helpful, and went out of her way to make sure everything for our stay and my sister’s wedding festivities went smoothly. She saw to our needs and those of our guests. Five stars for her. The hotel itself was okay, nothing remarkable for the price or location, and the rooms could use some TLC. The restaurants were good, though a little pricey.

The early morning valet was a gem. Every morning, my car was ready when I came out. The staff were always friendly, the rooms consistently clean, and it’s a nice, cozy place with great service.

Moses made check-in feel easy and smooth, and answered all our questions. He was so accommodating throughout our stay and went out of his way to help.
