It’s handy for the slopes, shopping and restaurants, and the staff are friendly. Our room was clean, too. The pillows were a real problem: all four were feather and went flat, compacted and hard, with no choice of firmness or softness. Coffee in the room was okay, but there were no creamers there. The coffee area with creamers doesn’t open until 7am, so 6am access would be nice for early risers.
The location was perfect, with rentals and ski valet on the second floor and only a few yards from the slopes. Everyone was so friendly, and check-in made us feel like rock stars. Everything was clean and the amenities were great. We especially appreciated the complimentary morning coffee and tea at the front desk, since we’re from the East Coast and nothing else was open yet. Can’t wait to come back.
I don’t recommend this hotel. The front desk service was poor throughout my birthday stay. When I arrived, the employee was friendly but didn’t wish me a happy birthday. My room wasn’t ready, so she said she’d call when I could return for the key. When I came back after the call, a different employee was helping someone else and offered that person Prosecco. When it was my turn, he didn’t offer me even water. No one explained the amenities, breakfast hours or activity schedule, so I had to ask everything. I was told happy hour ran from 4 to 5 and again from 7 to 8pm. We planned to go at 7, but the restaurant said it was only from 4 to 5. At the desk, the employee said, “I’m sorry they might not have it today.” When I asked for water, I was told to keep the bottles to refill, but no one had told me where the refill station was. The room vent was so dusty and dirty that we asked to have it replaced. Pics attached. The last straw was my daughter picking up a rotary phone on the hallway wall outside our room, thinking it was for the front desk. An employee rode the elevator up to tell me to stop her because it was for emergencies only. I explained she was fascinated by the rotary phone because she doesn’t see those often. The employee replied, “yeah three times?” I pointed out there was no sign saying the phone was for emergencies only. Pics attached.
I booked a stay at Beaver Creek on 12/22, and the deposit was taken from my credit card the next morning. I realized that evening, on the 23rd, that the trip timing wouldn’t work, so I cancelled. By the 29th, I still hadn’t received the refund. The property told me it should already have been processed and said they’d add a note to expedite it over the next couple of business days. On 1/2, it still hadn’t come through. I called several times that day just to reach “the manager,” who repeated what I’d been told a week earlier: the refund wasn’t processed. When I asked why it was still delayed, she sounded exasperated and quipped that she didn’t know because I was just calling. I’d think processing a refund promptly after cancellation was standard good business practice. A couple more questions seeking clarity were met with indifference and annoyance, so I asked for a receipt confirming the refund had actually been processed this time. I now have some form of confirmation that it’s being processed, but still no transparency about why it failed before, and I have to wait until at least the 9th to see if it comes through. This ordeal turned my interest in visiting a reportedly beautiful property into a desire to never do business with them again. The staff were rude, and their business practices seemed questionable.
The location is amazing, but we had a terrible stay. We were there for four days, and the wrong room was ready, the internet didn’t work, and the room phones were out of order. The staff were rude, and the front desk never found a solution. We can’t say we’d return. The housekeeping crew and valet were awesome, though.
