Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Bedford / Dallas

My husband and I left because we were too uncomfortable to stay at the Extended Stay by Wyndham in Bedford, Dallas. As soon as we checked in, there was a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the building, and we saw debris on the elevator and hallway floors on the way to our room. The room smelled so bad that I tried cleaning it myself. While doing that, I saw roaches coming out of the wall corners and got worried they could get into our luggage. There was also leftover food in the cupboards and refrigerator from previous guests. We reported everything to the front desk and shared photos. The staff were courteous and said we’d have to contact customer service through the company we booked with to resolve it. We’re still waiting to hear back. It was a very disappointing experience. We hope management takes immediate steps to improve cleanliness and guest safety.

The second room wasn’t any better. There was hair and staining on the shower and sheets, and each queen bed had only two pillows, all with brown stains. At least this room didn’t have cockroaches, unlike the first one. We checked in at 1 PM even though the original check-in time was 3, and understandably paid an early check-in fee. They put us in a first-floor room next to the mechanical room. The kitchen counter and floor were covered with live roaches and their egg sacs, called ootheca. The room smelled like a wet towel, the kitchen had dirty stains, and the bathroom looked unclean. We left and told the front desk attendant. There was no apology, just an assignment to another room. I don’t see how they can charge an early check-in fee when the room they gave us was dirty and crawling with insects. The location is close to both Dallas and Fort Worth, but I really can’t recommend this hotel.

I checked in at midnight, and the front desk staff were welcoming, polite, and got me through the process quickly. They patiently answered all my questions without hesitation, which was especially helpful at that hour. The room was clean and comfortable, and the place felt safe and well-managed. The staff came across as professional and friendly, and seemed to care about guests having a good experience. Their help made my stay stress-free. I had a really pleasant visit and would recommend this motel to anyone looking for good service and an easy stay. Thanks to the front desk for making it such a positive experience!

We stayed for a few days while moving from Texas to Illinois. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel was quiet. The front desk team were incredibly nice and helped with everything we needed without delay. A special shout-out to Eesh, who was there during the late-night hours.
