Holiday Beech Villas by VCI Real Estate Services

We were on a business trip for a few nights, and I brought my wife along. Deer showed up right outside the back door every day. She even fed one blueberries from her hand, and we caught one in the act of pooping too!

Deer and other wildlife were all around us, and the stay was really pleasant. The unit felt charming and very clean, with what looked like recent remodeling. It had a full kitchen with the basics already stocked. Fred's General Store is only two minutes away and is a must visit, with most anything you might need.

At $160 a night, I expected a clean, safe room, and this fell short. The toilet bowl had a soiled ring and one of the seat supports was missing. There was peeling bathroom wallpaper, and two ceiling fans had been installed amateurishly. Worse, an extra length of power cord had been spliced onto the original, which is a clear fire code violation. I knew the efficiency condo was very dated and the building was in disrepair, but I was surprised the leasing staff hadn't handled these issues, which seemed to be their responsibility. The accommodations were disappointing for the price.

We had a blast in the clean C308, especially with the slopes right next door. The kids loved it. We also went sledding at the Chamber of Commerce center at Beech Mtn and took a great hike along Lower Pond Creek. Put the phone away and enjoy mountain life!
