I've stayed here several times over the last couple of years while visiting. It's an easy, short walk to the gas station, which I've often used for morning coffee or an afternoon snack. Lately, though, I've been trying to book a room and can't reach anyone. I've tried the two phone numbers and the email address I found, with no response for about a week, and haven't found any news about updated contact details.

The rooms are big and quiet, and I loved my stay. The beds are great and the showers are nice, but the rooms could use updates and better lighting. It's a lovely area to visit. There's no real breakfast spot around besides McDonald's, so a restaurant in the same lot could be a gold mine if someone opened one.

The price was okay, but I'd gladly pay more for a manager who spoke reasonably and seemed interested in accommodating guests, rather than just making money. Management was horrible to deal with. The room wasn't awful, but it wasn't very clean, and the air conditioner didn't work. Opening the windows actually made it cooler. The claim that downtown is within walking distance depends on your idea of a walk. We made it, but a mile after dinner and a few drinks felt much longer. Wear comfortable shoes, ladies, and skip the heels.

The rooms were clean and quite spacious, though the nightly price was a little higher than I expected for the condition. Those weren't the reasons for my poor review. The owner was outright rude and very unprofessional, and I won't stay at the Bellaire Inn again. I booked a room for myself and my two daughters while visiting family. After checking in, we went to dinner at Shorts and spent time outside by the downtown fire pits. It was too cold for my girls, so at 6 p.m. we returned to the room with two family members who were visiting, not staying overnight. Within 30 seconds of arriving, before we had even taken off our shoes, the owner called to ask how many people were in the room. I explained that the two relatives were only visiting. In a snippy tone, she said I should have told her more people were coming and that only my daughters and I were allowed there. She said that, because of COVID, my family had to leave immediately. I was shocked. I asked why no-visitor rule hadn't been mentioned at check-in. She got defensive, insisted she'd told me, and said I should have known it was a state rule. I apologized for breaking the rules and hung up, still stunned. I'd never had that happen before. As a small business owner myself, I can think of several ways she could have handled it. Instead, she made me feel as if I had broken the rules on purpose, and I felt belittled and spied on. I will NEVER recommend the Bellaire Inn.

We brought a pontoon, and the woman was terribly rude about it. She made us rent a space across the street, even though we were the motel's only guests that night and there was room to park 15 pontoons without a problem. We'd stayed here several times before with no issues. We try to support small business owners, but that hasty treatment means they won't get our business again.
