La Residence Suite Hotel

Larry, the team, and Peanut the hotel cat made us feel welcome. The lobby kitchenette stays stocked with fruit, coffee, and condiments, with muffins, bagels, cereal, and more in the morning. Our spacious room was very clean and well maintained, with a kitchen equipped with utensils, and there's also a laundry room and gym. It's in a quiet part of Bellevue, close enough to downtown Seattle for a drive or Uber, and within walking distance of Bellevue restaurants and bars. Highly recommend La Residence Suite Hotel.

We felt at home here with our toddler. There was a separate living area, a full kitchen with a full-size fridge, stove, plates and utensils, plus a dining table, couches, TV area, and an extra blanket. Everything was very clean. We used a sound machine to fall asleep, since cars, including plenty of sports cars, could be heard passing by. The rooms aren't soundproof, though it was still quiet. Also, something on the couches set off my allergies, so they could use dusting.

The staff are really nice, and the location is great. The building is dated, though it looks like it's getting updates and investment, which is encouraging. Breakfast isn't anything special, but there's a wide range of choices and it does the job. I was leaning toward four stars, then realized it's rated as a two-star hotel, not three. For a two-star place, it outperformed every one I've experienced, so I'm giving it five.

We came back for a second stay and were just as comfortable. The staff are very nice and helpful, and downtown Bellevue is close enough that we didn't need the car. It's great having a mini apartment with a kitchen, dining room, and living room for nights when you don't want to eat out. It's dog friendly, too. Book early enough and you may get a room overlooking the downtown skyline.
