Bellingham Lodge

I’ve been to this motel over a dozen times. The hot tub had no heat, despite being advertised. The desk wouldn’t refund the room, and I was told there was no manager or supervisor available to speak with. $ FOR NOTHING.

I chose Bellingham Lodge specifically because it advertised a hot tub, but it wasn’t in service and there was no notice posted about that. When I asked to cancel and get a refund, the employee refused, tried to get me to pay MORE for a different room, and wouldn’t contact management. The amenity I paid for wasn’t available. I used to stay here often, but I won’t be back. I’d tell anyone looking for a good room in Bellingham to search elsewhere. This property will outright lie, double down on the lie, and do anything possible to avoid making right its own error.

We started out in a smoking room, then were offered an “apartment” for $40 more because there were no other rooms available. The TV remote didn’t work. Staff argued about who should fix it and then decided not to, saying the maintenance guy had quit. The room smelled like rotting cauliflower while we slept. When we cleaned up before checkout, we found a bag full of vomit, 2 beers, and a bunch of tinfoil under the bed. The front desk took note and said someone had probably broken into the room earlier because it wasn’t usually rented out.

I guess hotels in Bellingham are pricey, since this was one of the cheaper options, but it still felt a little overpriced. The place is basic and generic, with no character or anything distinctive. It used to be a Travelodge, I think, and it still has that feel. Fine overall, just nothing special.
