The location worked well, right by the airport and close to food and shops. It was quiet too, and the other guests mostly kept to themselves. One person’s cute cat would occasionally peek out when my husband and I came and went. I paid $58 a night for 11/9-11/13, which was a good price for a two-star motel. The bed was clean and made, the room smelled nice, and the cable, heat, and cooling all worked. Still, I’d pay $10-20 more to stay somewhere else unless I was in a bind. There was food in the freezer, things under the bed, and a dirty microwave missing its plate. I booked through Expedia and wasn’t charged the usual $100 deposit, which left me wondering why someone’s trash had been left behind. Housekeeping was available if requested, but I emailed photos and left things as they were until checkout. I wish the room had simply been checked and cleaned properly before I arrived. One morning, staff walked in while my guest and I were there, apparently thinking it was our checkout day. Mistakes happen, but it wasn’t great. A bed-frame wheel was missing, and a sharp wire by the base cut my arm while I was cleaning. I also found red mystery pills inside the heater, possibly someone’s pain medication. There may be a small language barrier with the staff or owners.

There was a condom wrapper beside the bed, something growing in a drawer, and what looked like blood smeared on the curtains. I’ve seen some rough places, but never one this bad. I felt gross just standing in the middle of the room. Honestly, sleeping outside in a puddle of urine sounded better. I couldn’t wait to go to bed, though I’m sure the bedbugs were hungry. There’s no excuse for this.

The rooms were bigger than I expected, and for a very affordable motel, it’s a pretty nice place. It’s old and worn, sure, and it’s not the Ritz. But if all you need is somewhere to stay, I’d say it’s worth it.

I stayed for a week and cleaned and disinfected the whole room. Even so, the manager said they were keeping my card deposit because I’d left a dog bone under the bed. I was told the money would be returned in three days, but it never came back. I’ve worked in hospitality for years. This is bad business, and I don’t recommend staying here.

For $74 with all taxes, I got a very clean, quiet, comfortable second-floor room, and I’m not sure what more people expect at that price. It had what I needed: TV, microwave, fridge, hangers, wrapped plastic cups, soap, shampoo and conditioner, a bath mat, and a full set of towels. The air conditioner worked, which was especially welcome with it 31°C outside. Best value in town.
