Holiday Inn Express Suites Belmont by IHG

I found ants all over the breakfast area, which was disgusting. When I told the person at the front desk, they didn't seem to care at all. The building is an older hotel that's been renovated, but in my room only the bedroom had been updated; the bathroom and entry hadn't. I prefer a new or fully renovated place. There was also an adjoining door to the next room, and nobody told me before I chose the room. Parking at the hotel costs extra. I don't recommend staying here and won't return.

For a business trip, the well-kept, clean rooms are a good size and make for an easy stay. The beds are some of the most comfortable I've found, hands down, after staying all over the Peninsula. Breakfast is also better than many nearby hotel options. Nothing fancy, but one of the better ones.

I travel for work and don't ask for much: reliable internet, a clean room, and ideally an outlet that works. I got none of that here. The bathroom trash was full from the previous guest, the towels didn't smell freshly laundered, and the internet kept cutting out so I couldn't work. The bathroom faucet leaked, too. I only discovered in the morning that the outlet beside the bed was dead, when I saw my phone hadn't charged and had to start the day with no battery.

Diana in the kitchen was friendly and helpful, and her service is why I'm giving five stars. The room was clean, though I would've preferred a room without carpet. The gym, on the other hand, is too cramped: there are no weights or mats, and not enough room to spread out for floor exercises among the three machines. It has three trash cans, but none are labeled to show which is for towels and which is for rubbish, so people seem to put everything in all of them.
