Super 8 by Wyndham Portland Airport

The price was low, and so was the experience. When I arrived to park, the front desk guy seemed annoyed and acted like I should already know how everything worked, even though it was my first time using them. Coming back from our trip, we waited over 20 minutes for pickup, and no one showed. I called twice before someone answered, then was told the driver might take another 20 minutes. The pickup took more than 30 minutes, even though they were only seven minutes away. Other companies arrived at least twice while we waited. On the ride to Super 8, the driver picked up his phone and took a call while driving, which is illegal, and kept accelerating and letting off the gas the whole way. I won’t use them again. Parking here really is a case of getting what you pay for.

Being close to the airport made our December 2025 stay convenient. I rented two rooms, but one had no running water in the shower. The front desk offered no fix, another room, or even a partial refund, so I had to wash my children in my room. I’ve stayed at Super 8 before and didn’t expect to be treated this way. I also wish breakfast ran until 10 instead of ending at 9. With children and a late flight, you’re not always up early, and it’d be nice for them to eat before getting back on the road. The current hours are 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

We had a two-queen room with nice beds, a microwave and fridge, and a great hot shower. Breakfast was good too, with pancakes, yogurt, and bananas, and there was plenty of parking. The place is a little run down and could be cleaner, but it did what we needed. No bedbugs. If you’re looking to explore Portland, I’d stay downtown.

My mom and her friends booked three nights for the July 4 weekend through Booking.com. They walked in, found the odor unbearable, and went straight to the front desk. My mom is prone to illness and has a disability, but staff did nothing beyond saying to talk to the manager in the morning. They had to leave and find a hotel in another city. When they returned in the morning, the manager said she couldn’t refund them because they’d booked through a third party. It felt like they were being passed back and forth to avoid paying them back. Booking.com later replied about reservation 6763727064 at Super 8 by Wyndham Portland/Westbrook Area, with check-in on Thu, 03 Jul 2025 and checkout on Sun, 06 Jul 2025. The message said the property had confirmed it couldn’t issue a refund and apologized for the inconvenience. Booking.com explained it acts as an intermediary, doesn’t manage the accommodation directly, and can’t process a refund without the property’s approval.
