Hampton Inn Portland-Airport

Teresa is the best hotel manager I've ever encountered. She went out of her way to look after my family, and her kindness made a stressful situation much easier. The Portland Hampton Inn is lucky to have her, and so are the guests. Highly recommend! My flight was cancelled, so I couldn't make the trip myself. Teresa took it upon herself to keep an eye on my son and my mum while they stayed there, which gave me real peace of mind. We also had package delivery issues at the start of the trip, and she personally followed up with the delivery services several times to get everything sorted. She made sure my family and I were taken care of.

The property has some real strengths: an excellent location, plenty of parking, and a large banquet and event area with almost expo-size space. Those areas look very good and seem well suited to conferences and professional events. Still, paying for parking as a hotel guest feels unnecessary and frustrating. The guest rooms were disappointing. The bathroom ceiling is visibly deteriorating, with panels separating. Sound carries badly from the next room, and you can clearly hear conversations and activity, which affects privacy and sleep. At an airport hotel, where guests need to rest during a layover, that's a serious drawback. The condition of the rooms falls well short of expectations.

The mattresses were excellent, and the property was clean, secure, professional, and very well maintained. It's convenient, too, with a prompt airport shuttle running 24 hours.

I travel a lot for work and usually choose Hilton properties. This one is the closest to PDX airport, and it's a nice, clean hotel with secure parking. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and they have all the amenities Hilton provides.
