The staff, from senior management down, were consistently rude and dismissive, and our long stay was extremely disappointing. We booked a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit well in advance, but during Super Bowl week we were moved into a one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit. It felt clear that short-term, higher-paying guests were being prioritized over long-stay guests like us. The room was dirty, smelled bad, and had no proper ventilation. When I asked for an upgrade, Michael and his team didn't help. They quoted prices much higher than the rates on their own website, with no real effort to accommodate our extended booking. Hygiene was another serious concern. More than once, we saw cleaners handle toilets and then go straight to cleaning kitchen vessels and surfaces without sanitizing their hands or changing gloves. The pond water on the property smelled terrible, and management didn't seem interested in cleaning it or reporting it to the proper authorities. There were ongoing maintenance problems too. Dishwashers in most rooms didn't work; staff repeatedly pressed reset to drain the water but never fixed them. The bar had been closed for 3-4 months. One washer had been broken for months before someone finally took the initiative to fix it, and only one dryer worked. Many refrigerators made loud, constant noise. It took 4-5 weeks to get Wi-Fi fully working in our room, which is unacceptable for a long-stay property. On checkout day, as Globalists, we were entitled to late checkout until 4 PM. We agreed to pay $75 for it, but because we were 15 minutes late, they charged us another $75. That felt petty and unprofessional. Management seems to put short-term revenue ahead of long-term guests and neglect hygiene, maintenance, and basic customer care. I wouldn't recommend this place for an extended stay.
We're repeat guests. We recently stayed for a month, then came back for another 20 days. This time, we discovered a $15/night parking fee per car that hadn't been disclosed when we booked. With two cars, that works out to $30/night, or over $600 for the stay, enough for a month's budget at a nicer place that includes parking. It took four days to get a response about waiving the fee. The front desk kept saying, “I can't make that decision,” and the manager was either in meetings or only available for limited hours. After all that waiting, we got a flat no, with no flexibility even for returning long-stay customers. The rooms and location are fine, but the surprise fees and runaround make it hard to recommend. If you're planning an extended stay with multiple cars, do the math before booking or look for a better option with parking included.
The room was great for our one-night stay during a volleyball tournament. We usually rent Airbnb because we hate hotel drama. We did hear the upstairs neighbors stomping around after 10 pm, but we had to be up at 5 am, so we called the hotel desk like Karens, and they stopped. Parking was no problem with such a big property. Breakfast was actually good and the staff were nice.
The rooms feel like apartments, they're so spacious compared with a cramped hotel room. Parents, it's a great setup if you want some time away in separate private rooms. The neighborhood feels safe and cute, and there's even a pond to walk around. Hands down our favorite hotel in the bay!
I used to enjoy staying here and have visited several times over the last couple of years, but my stay last Dec was one of my worst Hyatt experiences. As an Explorist, I never received the promised compensation points, and I couldn't find any managers despite visiting the front desk more than 10 times. The service has become terrible. I wonder whether the management team has changed.
