Budget Inn Bend

The rooms are simple, but great for the price, and the service from these really wonderful people was so good. We'd give them more stars if we could. Stay here!

The room was clean and fairly large, and the place itself was good. What concerned me was how sensitive information seemed to be handled. I was alone in the lobby with a copy of someone's license sitting in plain view, and nothing was stopping me from taking it. There was a whole stack of copies left out.

This motel feels like a secret in Bend. The customer service was awesome, and the rooms were clean, with beautiful king-size beds.

The walking trail right behind the motel was really nice. The bed was comfortable, though not firm, and we had just two small-to-medium pillows. The room felt clammy, and the AC unit didn't do much to control the temperature. The walls were paper thin. It reminded me of my first apartment, where the people above always sounded like elephants jumping around and bowling. You could hear whenever someone moved in another room. There were other issues with the room, too. The deadbolt was missing, although the doorknob lock still worked, and the bathroom doorknob didn't work, so we couldn't shut that door. The TV looked like it was barely hanging on, as if it had fallen off the wall a few times, and the picture quality was bad. The parking lot was poorly laid out. If every room were full, or someone had a bigger truck, cars could get blocked in. I've stayed in plenty of cheap motels, so I wasn't expecting the Ritz. But when we called ahead about pets, we were only told they were allowed. Once we arrived and said we had two dogs, the front desk person was told to charge $60, nearly what I paid for the room. Nobody mentioned a pet fee on the phone, and there was nothing about one on the office signs or papers. If I'd known it would nearly double the cost, I would've gone somewhere with better reviews.
