Campfire Hotel

The fire pit is a great gathering spot, and you can pick up s’mores kits in the lobby shop. There’s also a bar on site, a heated pool and hot tub open year round, and plenty of food close by. Fire on the Mountain buffalo wings casual dining restaurant is right across the street, while their sister bar Dogwood in The Pine Shed is just behind the hotel. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location worked really well, about ten minutes from both the Old Mill District and downtown Bend, with several nearby places to eat late. Such a fun, unique stay. We’ll definitely return.

I was glad I tried somewhere beyond Holiday Inn for my first time booking a different hotel. The room was clean and welcoming, and the outdoor area, with its big fire pit and lights, gave the place a warm feel. I’d recommend it and would stay again. There were a couple of snags. The third-party site didn’t disclose an amenity fee when I booked two separate dates on the same day, but the hotel reimbursed me after I contacted them, which I appreciated. I also left my iPad charger behind. I’m confident it was in the room, but after following up several times, it was never found or turned in. Those issues didn’t spoil an otherwise great stay. Now that I know about the fee, I’m happy to pay it when I return.

The bed was really comfortable, and the place was quiet apart from the all-day music they played too loudly. The location was decent and the general atmosphere was nice, so I enjoyed our three-day weekend. Still, it felt overpriced for a motel, especially since it’s run down and could use upkeep. Parking is limited, the staff seemed pretty grumpy, and the amenity fee is ridiculous. They should just include it in the room price.

The staff were welcoming, parking was convenient, and the king suite bed was really comfortable. We’d stay again. There were drinks and snacks in the fridge, and I think their cost comes off the deposit, which is refunded after the stay. The restaurant is a good choice if you’re into wings and beer, or you can get a cocktail at the lobby bar. Honestly, better than I expected.
