There was a mouse in the room, which was the last straw. The carpet was filthy, full of dirt and stains, and there were holes in the wall near the back window and between the bathroom and main room. Even the bathroom lights and exhaust fan didn’t work. The room was foul. I strongly recommend staying away.

I’d stayed here many times before. The older Indian couple who used to run the place didn’t speak the best English, but they were fair and nice to me. Yesterday, though, a younger couple were there, and they were rude with a bad attitude. If they’re the owners’ kids taking over, they might as well close the place. A woman I know told me the room I’d just checked into had been treated for bed bugs a second time, so I asked for my money back. I’d paid $200.00, but she only returned $170.00.

We checked in around noon on 9/10/16 with our small children and were assigned room #114. The smell of Pinesol and wet dog hit us as soon as we entered. There was a stained mattress leaning against the wall and stains on the carpet. We asked for another room, and management moved us to #118. We looked around quickly, then went out to eat and to the boardwalk without unpacking. When we got back, my husband inspected both double mattresses and found bed bugs under the one nearest the headboard. There were black droppings on the box spring, and the bugs we saw were plump, as if they’d recently fed. After management accused us of putting them there to avoid paying, they finally gave us a refund after an argument. We always check for bed bugs and other hazards when traveling with our kids. If you stay here or anywhere, check under the mattress and behind the headboard. Bed bugs are no joke.

The owner was a bold-faced liar and a complete jerk. After three of the most horrible nights I’ve ever had in this shithole, I can say never again. We got one towel per guest for the whole stay, no fresh towels or room service, and no extra pillows. The Wi-Fi worked whenever it felt like it. The AC was so noisy I had to choose between sweating and sleeping. The fridge was warmer than the pretend microwave in the room. They did have a shared microwave, in the parking lot, of all places. Unbelievable.
