Catamount Motel

There’s a mini fridge and a small coffee maker, and the bathroom fixtures were updated. The room was clean, with a hot shower and good water pressure. The beds had old-fashioned, plasticky-feeling comforters, though they seemed new. There was a cute pug in the office. They didn’t charge us until checkout, when the rate came out higher than what we booked, which seemed sus.

It’s an older hotel, cozy but definitely old, and the location is great. There’s a gas station and mini mart next door, which gives it an edge on the way into the bill.

For the Bennington area, The Catamount is a great value. Pete is kind and accommodating. Call to reserve.

I make a stop in Bennington every summer on my way to Maine, and this is my favorite motel. I’ve tried a few different motels and inns over the years, but none come close to The Catamount, Pete, and his pug. The rooms are always clean and the beds comfy. I love this motel and highly recommend it.
