The Country Inn of Berkeley Springs

We'd eaten here before, but this was our first stay. The room was huge and super clean, and the check-in staff were phenomenal. We arrived early hoping just to park and head into town, but the room was already ready, so we could settle in straight away. There was good coffee in the lobby whenever we wanted it. We had dinner in the tavern, where we usually prefer drinks with a snack or appetizer.

The staff, maintenance team, and housekeeping were all faultless, and everything was very clean. The rooms also had a nice split-system AC and comfortable beds. I stayed for nine days, though, and in the historic part of the hotel, noise from above carries a lot. You can hear every word and footstep through the creaky floorboards. One night around midnight, I woke up thinking someone in stilettos was about to come through the ceiling. Thankfully it didn't go on for long. If you're on a high floor, please keep the people below in mind in a building this old.

Every meal at the restaurant was fabulous, with some really amazing offerings. The room was cozy and quiet, and the staff were so helpful. This place really makes you feel welcome. Such a lovely spot to stay.

We were in town for the Apple butter festival this year and will be back. The hotel is right in the center, so everything was convenient, and we loved our stay. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the beds comfortable, and the front desk always greeted us with a warm smile. Customer service was amazing. Our waiter was extremely nice, and the food was delicious. I had the spinach and tomato pasta, and the French onion soup was the best I've ever had, with great flavor and cheese melted golden brown on top. Perfect!
