Red Roof Inn Savannah - Southside/Midtown

Our non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes and pot as soon as we walked in. The comforter had stains, paint was peeling from the ceiling, and there was a hole in the bathroom wall where the door hit it. I also saw a roach scurry across the restroom floor.

At night, people were making a lot of noise outside, yelling and running around. The rooms were filthy and smelled bad: trash behind the bed, cigarette burn holes in the toilet seat, a dirty shower, and broken furniture. The sheets made us itchy, and we found dog hair on them, so we stripped the bed and had to buy cleaning supplies to make the stay bearable. This motel is ridiculous and filthy. It ought to be closed down or burned down again. I wouldn't stay here even as a last option.

The internet was very good, and the hotel did sort out the bedding problem. Check-in was handled securely at the side of the front entrance. The room smelled moldy, and the sheets were filthy with a lot of dirt on them.

We'd driven four hours when they told us they wouldn't accept our payment method, even though I had booked on Wednesday and we arrived Saturday. Who waits until someone has made that drive to say that? The service was terrible and the place was so run down. We had to cross town to the Red Roof Plus on Fort Argyle, where they were very helpful, the place was clean and nice, and they were happy to fit us in at the last minute. Never again.
