Janet and Warren were excellent hosts, and they helped us find our way around the area. After two nights, we felt like part of the family. The breakfast alone made the stay worthwhile, and they paid real attention to our needs. It’s one of the nicest Bed & Breakfasts we’ve stayed at, and it was perfect for meeting our daughter, son-in-law, and grandson for skiing at Elk Mountain.

Breakfast is a big part of why we keep coming back. The menu is creative, the dishes are filling and delicious, and many ingredients come from their own garden. There are fresh baked treats, drinks, and snacks available anytime, and we always take home several jars of Janet’s homemade jams to see what new flavors she’s come up with. The whole house feels cozy and homey, and to us it feels like coming home. It’s meticulously clean, with lovely seasonal decorations in every nook and cranny. Janet and Warren are warm, accommodating, gracious hosts. They handle special requests easily and strike a nice balance between conversation and giving guests privacy. Their passion for running the Bed and breakfast really shows, and no detail seems overlooked. This was our third stay at the James Manning House. My husband and I come for our anniversary each year, and next year is already on the books. We stay at Bed and Breakfasts when we travel, and this is by far the best we’ve found. We treasure our time here and would highly recommend it.

We had the place to ourselves, which felt like a real treat. Janet and Warren made our wedding anniversary one to remember. The house was impeccably clean and decorated beautifully for Christmas. We enjoyed spending time with them, and breakfast was delicious, Dutch apple pancakes with sausage and grilled pineapple. We can’t wait to return. I can’t recommend them enough, you won’t be disappointed.

After a day on the slopes, this was a lovely place to unwind, just a short drive from Elk mountain. The room was comfortable, the ambiance delightful, and breakfast delicious. We had a wonderful time at the James Manning house and look forward to staying there again.

It’s a lovely home, and the people make you feel like part of the family. They keep the house well cared for and offer thoughtful extras, like ordering a celebration surprise for someone you love. They’re also happy to suggest things to do nearby or places to eat. We’ll definitely visit again.
