Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront

I needed a relaxing getaway, and the staff were wonderful and accommodating from start to finish, including the front desk, engineers, valet, housekeeping, concierge, restaurant team, and bartender. Pets are welcome, which meant my cat got to enjoy the vacation too. Five stars, and I’ll be back.

The pool area was the one letdown. It was really cold inside, and there was dirt all over the bottom of the pool. The area didn’t seem to be maintained. Everything else was lovely during our December 19-21 stay. The service was impeccable, from the wonderfully kind front desk to the valet who went above and beyond. We liked the hotel bar and restaurant, the room had a beautiful view that my son absolutely enjoyed, and breakfast was amazing.

The boardwalk is right behind the hotel, and there’s a third-floor terrace looking out over the ocean. All the rooms face the water, and the property was clean and well maintained. The valet team, Hunter and Ronnie, were friendly and accommodating. Room service and turndown were prompt and tidy. Marisela, Alphonso, and the other front desk staff were kind and quick to answer questions or concerns. I’ll definitely be back.

The room was dirty, and one of our rooms, 703, had bed bugs. The staff immediately understood that we wanted a refund and to check out. Marisela and Alphonso had been amazing at the front desk before checkout, and Hunter did a great job greeting us and returning the car promptly. I called the hotel a few times today and got voicemail. When Alphonso finally answered and I asked to speak with the GM, he giggled before transferring me. Overall, it’s a nice hotel with only okay customer service, but that room was filthy.
