Econo Lodge Elmira-Corning

The comfortable bed and pillows meant we slept great, and the front desk staff were kind and helpful. Recently renovated, the hotel has nice smelling hallways and sits among lots of restaurants, which makes it a convenient food spot. It served its purpose well as a 2-star hotel and had the amenities we needed. The room was generally tidy and dust-free, but there was hair in the sink and leftover soap in the tub. A little more attention to cleanliness would help it feel properly disinfected. Our neighbors were extremely loud, with the TV blasting and an alarm going off at 2:30 a.m. for nearly an hour. I appreciate that the desk addressed it when I called, though the walls don’t block much sound. When the hotel isn’t full, spacing guests apart would help. For the price, I’d stay again. It’s comfortable for a night, well located, and has good service.

Nice place to stay at reasonable rates, with free coffee. The rooms are nice and clean, and Chemung County Airport is right nearby. DQ, Taco Bell, and Applebee's are within walking distance, and most restaurants and stores are within a mile.

Housekeeping does a good job, and the basics are there: towels when you want them and laundry on site if needed. The room was okay and clean, though it only had a desk chair to sit on. Plumbing noise carries, so you hear people above or next door using water. The area made me feel wary, with people walking through the parking lot and beat-up cars coming in. I hoped my car wouldn’t get broken into. The door lock was a pain to open, and the lopsided tub was hard to stand in.

The heat unit turned off when switched to heating, and the shower’s hot water was only warm. Under the sheets I felt itchy, and woke up covered in bites. It felt like bed bugs. I’ve never had this happen at a hotel. I thought I might let it slide because it’s a two-star place, but people should know how unclean it is.
