The room was disgusting. Roaches were flying around the bed as soon as I walked in, there were blood stains on the floor and bed, duct tape on the curtains, the AC didn’t work, and there were bed bugs. I slept in my car the whole stay, so I basically paid for a parking spot. Please avoid this place.

For work, this old motel was a great budget option at $225 a week. The manager at the time was awesome, and the bed was comfortable and clean, with no bugs. My single room was pretty small, but I got used to it during the week and did some cleaning myself, especially on the tile floor. It had DirecTV, a fridge, and a microwave. The double rooms are quite a bit bigger and have a larger fridge. I’d recommend it for work, but if you’re after luxury, you’ll need to pay $150 or more a night at those overpriced chain hotels.

The room heater was so loud I couldn’t sleep, and you could hear every noise outside. At 6:30 in the morning, workers dragged a trash can around for no reason. My single room was closet-sized, and there was no hot water. This place isn’t worth staying at. I’d gladly spend my whole per diem to never come back. First, ask yourself why the hell you’re in Big Lake.

We needed an affordable place for one night with friends on the way to San Angelo, and we were glad to find this little gem. It’s an older property, but the owners keep renovating and doing what they can to make the stay better. The place was very clean, and I believe a husband and wife run it. They treated everyone like family and gave excellent customer service.

The owners are very nice and clearly care about each guest. They keep asking if they can make my stay more enjoyable. The place has been recently renovated, with new showers and a bed, plus free HBO, Cinemax, and Telemundo. For the price, it’s a great choice in Big Lake. I’ll be back!
