Best Western Oak Manor

We wanted easier beach access, so the location didn’t really suit us, though if you’re here for gambling it could be a good choice outside the casino hotels. Beau Rivage and Hard Rock are within walking distance. The hotel has an old-school setup, with the office separate from the building, and your key lets you into both the hotel and your room. There’s lots of parking, and check-in and check-out were both quick and easy. Our room was clean and nice, with fairly current amenities. Housekeeping is for stays of at least two days, usually coming around 10 in the morning. Direct TV is provided, with streaming options in the room too. Breakfast was the best we’ve had at a hotel, and the menu changed every day. One night we asked for towels and security brought them over within a couple of minutes. We’d still consider staying here when we’re in the area.

Breakfast had a nice range of choices, and the amenities were handy and in good shape. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the property looked well cared for. Staff were friendly and efficient, and check-in was quick. It was an easy, pleasant stay, and we’d come back.

Getting in and out is a real hassle. The rooms could use updated carpets and a good cleaning, and the corridors smell smoky, with air freshener used to cover it up.

The welcome at the front desk was the best I’ve had, though I can’t remember the concierge’s name. Ms Jennifer in housekeeping was so professional and sweet, with that lovely southern hospitality she deserves recognition for. I slept peacefully and really enjoyed my stay. I’ll come back when I’m in town.
