Super 8 Biloxi

We stayed for a week and housekeeping never came once. By the third day, we asked the front desk for extra towels since we were at the beach, and they told us to do our own laundry instead. The tub barely drained, leaving inches of water after a short shower, and we had to clear it ourselves. Staff also peered through our window to check if we’d checked out, which felt invasive, and the area didn’t feel very safe. The floor was grimy enough that walking barefoot left our feet visibly dirty. The room was like that from the start. The “breakfast” was basically a muffin and coffee. I know Super 8 locations can vary, but this one seemed poorly managed and was one of my most disappointing hotel stays. I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

I was so fed up that I asked for a refund and refused another room, even though I didn’t know where we’d go. I’d rather have slept in my car than stay. The pictures are deceiving. This place is run down, with maintenance problems everywhere: stained bedding and sheets, dirty floors, battered bathrooms, and cigarette butts and trash across the grounds. It was not a pleasant place, and it gives Super 8 and Wyndham a bad name. I’ll never return. First, our room had a broken bed frame, a toilet that wouldn’t flush, and stained sheets, so they moved us. The next room seemed okay until we came back late after a long day and found the shower completely broken. They moved us again, to a hot, dirty room with no bed covers. That was enough.

The front lobby looks updated and nice, but the rooms need a whole lot of work. Ours had a hole in the bathroom wall, a badly ripped office chair, and hair in the sink that wasn’t ours. The light over the sink surged when I plugged something into the wall. My husband called the front desk about the hole so they’d know we hadn’t made it. There seem to be people living here, since there are small grills on the sidewalk outside rooms. The woman told my husband breakfast was coffee and a muffin. That’s not breakfast, but I guess that’s why it’s free. If you want something nice, this isn’t it.

I booked a room for the Saturday of the Crawfish Festival, but we couldn’t stay. There were roaches on top of a disgusting microwave and the floors were dirty. Thank goodness neither of us had been drinking, because we needed to deal with leaving. They refused to refund my money and didn’t clearly explain why. I understand there may be policies, but roaches in the rooms should be an exception.
